Stay-at-home Mom and School Volunteer

2001-2014

I was lucky enough to stay home with my two children while they were in their elementary years.  As a parent volunteer I ran literature circles, assisited in DRA and Dolch assessments, participated in PTA as Room Parent Coordinator, and assisted Foundation in fundraising.

Volunteer Girl Scout Leader

2008 -2014

I grew up in scouting earning the highest achieving Gold Award as a high school senior.  I then went on to work for Girl Scouts for multiple summers during college as camp staff working my way up to Camp Director.  When I had a daughter, I knew I would get her involved in scouting.  For six years I ran a multi-age, multi-level Girl Scout troop of over 22 girls.  My eduaction background came in handy as I adapted program to meet varying needs and interests, supervised on field trips and overnight trips, communicated weekly with parents, and managed funds.
