"Every student can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way."  George Evans

Differentiation is at the heart of my classroom.  I strive to meet the needs of each student each day.  I utilize lots of grouping - both hetereogenous and homogenous - to meet needs.  Inquiry or Project Based Learning is also a part of my teaching philosophy.  I strive to create lessons where students can use critical thinking to think creatively, collaborate, and communicate.  A growth mindset of all learners is encouraged every day.  Reader's and Writer's Workshop is the heart of my ELA curriculum using models of Jan Richardson, The Sisters,  and Lucy Calkins.  Finally, integrating technolgy will be an essential part of 21st century learners in my classroom.
